The rice fields of Tây Yên A & Tây Yên commune, An Biên District, Kiên Giang province, Mekong Delta region. Some of the rice fields are used for shrimp farming in the dry season (January - August). During the dry season, saline water on the canals penetrates deep into the fields and is favorable for shrimp farming. When the rainy season comes, the fresh water on the canals flows down the fields to create favorable conditions for the rice crop. Shrimp farming in rice fields mainly uses natural food and the rice production is completely free of fertilizers. Shrimp-rice rotation model was born due to the need to adapt to climate change.
