Zèng is a traditional brocade fabric of the Cơ Tu people, usually woven on a hand loom. Zèng patterns carry symbolic meanings associated with mountains, forests, rivers, streams, birds, animals, the sun, moon, and stars… reflecting the spiritual life and worldview of the Cơ Tu people. Zèng fabric is commonly used to make skirts, shirts, loincloths, scarves, and bags; nowadays, it is also creatively transformed into modern clothing and souvenirs. The Zèng weaving craft has been recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage (in 2017). This traditional craft is not only a part of daily life but also a source of cultural pride for the Cơ Tu people in A Lưới.
