Tra Su Melaleuca Forest, located in Tinh Bien District, An Giang Province, is one of the most distinctive and prominent wetlands in the Southwestern region of Vietnam. Covering over 800 hectares, it is considered the "green lung" of the That Son region, possessing both ecological and tourism value. The melaleuca forest ecosystem is incredibly rich, home to hundreds of species of flora and fauna, including many rare birds such as egrets, herons, and herons. Especially during the flood season (from September to November), the entire forest is covered in a lush green carpet of water hyacinth, creating a dreamy and unique landscape. When visiting Tra Su, tourists can experience riding motorboats or traditional sampans through the small canals, admiring the fresh and tranquil natural scenery. The rows of straight melaleuca trees reflected on the emerald green water, along with the chirping of birds, create a peaceful and intimate atmosphere. Additionally, visitors can climb the observation tower to admire the panoramic view of the vast melaleuca forest, with the majestic Thất Sơn mountain range in the distance. More than just an attractive ecotourism destination, the Trà Sư Melaleuca Forest also plays a crucial role in biodiversity conservation and climate regulation for the entire region. It is increasingly attracting domestic and international visitors, becoming a symbol of the natural beauty of the Mekong Delta.
