The bridge is 2.36 km long, part of the coastal route with a total investment of 3,496 billion VND in the completion phase, of which phase 1 is 2,400 billion VND. The project was approved by the People's Committee of Hue City and started construction on March 26, 2022. The bridge across Thuan An estuary is permanently built with reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete under a group A project, a special traffic project, with a total length of 2.36 km, a bridge width of 20 m, and a width of up to 23.5 m at the main spans. The bridge uses a mixed girder-cable structure (Extradosed) for the main spans, the largest span is 218 m long, bringing high technical and economic efficiency. It is expected that on September 2, 2025, the bridge will be technically opened to traffic and the entire package will be completed by the end of 2025. When put into use, this coastal route will facilitate the development of coastal urban areas of Hue city, promote socio-economic development, tourism and improve the lives of people in the area. In addition to its role in transportation, the project also creates a land fund of about 1,500 hectares along the coast, attracting investment, opening up opportunities for the development of tourism infrastructure, services, and high-class resorts for Hue city in the future.
