The Lao Cai – Vinh Yen 500kV Transmission Line Project is a key national project whose investment policy has been approved by the Prime Minister. The Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) is the investor, with the Power Project Management Board 1 acting as the investor's representative. This is a double-circuit 500kV transmission line with a total length of 229.5km and a total of 468 tower foundation locations. The project passes through two provinces, Lao Cai and Phu Tho, with the starting point at the Lao Cai 500kV substation and the end point at the Vinh Yen 500kV substation. The total investment for the project is over 7,410 billion VND. The project aims to ensure the transmission of electricity purchased from China, alleviate the capacity constraints of hydropower plants in the Northwest region, and contribute to national energy security.
