Distinguished Artisan Chamalea Âu, a Raglay ethnic minority member from Ma Noi commune, Ninh Son district, Ninh Thuan province, is one of the few people who can skillfully craft and use traditional instruments of his people, such as the Chapi lute. The Chapi lute, a characteristic traditional instrument of the Raglai ethnic community, became even more well-known after musician Tran Tien wrote the lyric "Even the poor have a Chapi lute"—affirming it as an indispensable spiritual element for any Raglai person.
