Rach Mieu 2 Bridge was started in March 2022, connecting Dong Thap province with Vinh Long province, about 3.8 km downstream from the existing Rach Mieu Bridge. The project has a total length of more than 17 km, of which the main bridge is about 2 km long, with a scale of 4 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 lanes for mixed vehicles. This is a national key project, with a total investment of more than 5,100 billion VND, invested by the Ministry of Transport. When completed (expected in 2025), Rach Mieu 2 Bridge will contribute to reducing serious congestion on the old Rach Mieu Bridge, promoting trade, developing tourism and the economy of the Mekong Delta. The bridge not only has traffic significance but also symbolizes the connection and expansion of development space between Dong Thap, Vinh Long and the entire Southwest region.
