"Childhood is something that no one can choose." That saying suddenly came to me when I took this photo, during a volunteer trip to a poor ethnic minority area in Dak Lak. That day, I stood in the middle of a dusty red dirt road, surrounded by patchwork roofs. In that scene, a pair of small eyes looked at me - clear, innocent, but filled with an unnamed sadness. In this place, the children's childhood is associated with bare, muddy feet, with thin, worn-out shirts, and with dreams that have never been expressed in words. I know that I cannot choose their childhood. But I believe that each outstretched hand, each bit of love sent, will be a brick paving the road to a less bumpy future. This photo is not just a moment I captured, but a reminder: Be grateful for what you have, and don't forget to share with those less fortunate. Because maybe, just one small action of ours today… will be the most beautiful memory of someone's childhood tomorrow.
