Kien Trung Palace is located inside the Forbidden City, built by King Khai Dinh in 1921-1923. This is the main residence of the king inside the Forbidden City. Kien Trung Palace is an extremely unique structure inside the royal palace, with French, Italian and traditional Vietnamese architectural styles. Unfortunately, this palace was completely destroyed by war in 1947. In 2019, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center launched the project to restore Kien Trung Palace, with a total cost of more than 123 billion VND. After many years of restoration, this palace has now opened to welcome the first visitors to visit on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin. This used to be the workplace and living place of King Khai Dinh and Bao Dai.
