Kien Trung Palace, located within the Forbidden City, was built by Emperor Khai Dinh between 1921 and 1923. It served as the Emperor's main residence within the Forbidden City. Kien Trung Palace is a unique structure within the imperial palace, showcasing a blend of French, Italian, and traditional Vietnamese architectural styles. Sadly, it was completely destroyed by war in 1947. In 2019, the Hue Ancient Citadel Relics Conservation Center launched a restoration project for Kien Trung Palace, with a total budget of over 123 billion VND. After many years of restoration, the palace has now opened its doors to its first visitors during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon. It was once the workplace and residence of Emperors Khai Dinh and Bao Dai.
