On the morning of October 20th, the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Supporting Young Workers organized a "Mass Wedding Ceremony" in 2023 for 82 couples. The participating couples were officials, employees, teachers, demobilized soldiers, young workers, and laborers in difficult circumstances working in industrial parks, agencies, units, and trade unions in the city and neighboring provinces. Attending the program, Mr. Bui Thanh Thuan (born in 1984) and Ms. Nguyen Thi La (born in 1987) couldn't hide their happiness. Both Mr. Thuan and Ms. La are disabled and work as street lottery ticket vendors in Binh Duong. Sharing similar difficult circumstances, they have been together for 10 years and had never held a wedding ceremony before. "This is the first time I've ever had my makeup done and worn an ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress). For the past 10 years, my husband and I have always dreamed of having a wedding ceremony, but we haven't had the means to do so. We are so happy," Ms. La confided.
