Then Village, Tan Dinh Commune, Bac Ninh Province is known as the only "violin village" in Vietnam. What is special is that the farmers here, after a hard day's work in the fields, gather at the communal house or cultural house to practice and perform music from Vietnamese folk songs to Western classical music. This spirit of love for music has been passed down from generation to generation. Despite the ups and downs of history, and even at times when it seemed like the movement was fading away, the people of Then Village still persevered to preserve and develop it.
