The flood season in the Mekong Delta usually lasts from July to October in the lunar calendar (approximately August to November in the Gregorian calendar), when water from the upper reaches of the Mekong River flows in, creating a vast river landscape, depositing fertile alluvial soil, and bringing abundant fish, shrimp, and other produce to the local people.
