During the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, Vietnamese logistics achieved a feat beyond the expectations of the French expeditionary army: successfully completing the task of ensuring the complete victory of the army and the resistance armed forces. One of the key means of transport contributing to this proud achievement was the cargo bicycle. Among all means of transport, the cargo bicycle proved its superiority. Its advantages include being compact, mobile, fuel-free, easy to repair, easy to camouflage, and capable of moving across even the most difficult mountainous terrain. Using cargo bicycles for transport was also much more productive than carrying goods on foot. Each bicycle had an average carrying capacity of 50kg to 100kg, equivalent to the carrying capacity of 5 people. With additional reinforcement, cargo bicycles could carry 200kg to 300kg of rice and could transport bulky supplies or liquids.
