The 500kV Lao Cai - Vinh Yen Transmission Line Project is a National Key Project approved by the Prime Minister for investment, assigning Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) as the Investor, with Power Project Management Board 1 as the Investor's representative. This is a 500kV double-circuit transmission line project with a total length of 229.5km, with a total of 468 pole foundation locations. The project passes through two provinces, Lao Cai and Phu Tho, with the starting point being the 500kV Lao Cai station and the ending point being the 500kV Vinh Yen station. The total investment of the project is more than 7,410 billion VND. The project's objective is to ensure the transmission of electricity purchased from China, relieve the capacity of hydropower plants in the Northwest region, and contribute to ensuring national energy security.
