I was fortunate to experience two of the biggest events in history: the parade to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country and the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the country's Independence - Freedom - Happiness. In the joy of the whole country, the country was dyed red with the red flag with a yellow star, the whole people united, joining hands towards a developing future. Along with that, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the country's independence, the government decided to give each citizen 100,000 VND, this was an unprecedented event in Vietnam, marking the country's transformation, the state had enough to give gifts to the people. That was a loving gift from the state to the people, for many people it could be a small amount of money, for others it could be exchanged for many meals to relieve hunger. Commendably, there was a group of students from Luu Huu Phuoc High School under the city. Can Tho used that money to buy ingredients and make charity lunch boxes to help those in difficult circumstances. The holiday has passed, but patriotism and love for fellow countrymen are still there, that's how Vietnamese people are!
