At 11 PM on September 7th, after Super Typhoon Yagi hit Ha Long Bay, many boats were swept out to sea. During a choppy phone call, Captain Le Van Tien only managed to tell his son: “You two try to stay safe. I will try to find a way back, but I don’t know how.” A few seconds later, communication was cut off. The photo captures the moment of overwhelming joy and tears of happiness from the wife after 12 hours of life and death, reuniting with her husband who had returned from the brink of death.
