The Big Prison was the largest prison in the Southwest region during the French colonial period, built in the late 19th century in the center of Can Tho city. This place used to be the place to detain and torture thousands of revolutionary soldiers and patriots fighting against French colonialism and later American imperialism. Currently, the relic only has traces of the foundation, walls... but is ranked as a National Historical - Cultural Relic, an important destination in the journey to learn about the history of the nation's revolutionary struggle.
