The Hung Kings worship is one of the unique folk beliefs of the Vietnamese people, commemorating the contributions of the Hung Kings in founding and defending the nation. This is not only an expression of gratitude to ancestors but also reflects the spirit of unity and the principle of "drinking water, remembering the source" of the Vietnamese people. Every year, on the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day (the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month), people throughout the country gather at Hung Temple to offer incense and pay respects, thereby affirming the cultural identity and national pride of Vietnam. This belief has been recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
