My Thuan 1 Bridge is Vietnam's first cable-stayed bridge, inaugurated in 2000, located on National Highway 1A connecting Vinh Long and Tien Giang provinces. My Thuan 2 Bridge is a larger, higher, and wider cable-stayed bridge, designed and constructed entirely by Vietnamese engineers and workers. Opened to traffic at the end of 2023, it is located on the Eastern North-South Expressway, a short distance from My Thuan 1 Bridge. Both bridges span the Tien River, effectively connecting the Mekong Delta region with Ho Chi Minh City and the rest of the country.
