Sedge grass grows naturally in the acidic, waterlogged soils characteristic of the Mekong Delta. This plant belongs to the sedge family, has a straight stem, and grows to about one meter tall when mature. The main harvesting season takes place from August to November each year, coinciding with the high water levels.
