- Lời giới thiệu: Nại Lagoon, a sprawling saltwater expanse nestled amidst the mountains of Ninh Thuận province, Vietnam, empties into the serene Phan Rang Bay. Situated approximately 10 kilometers from the vibrant Phan Rang-Tháp Chàm city, this natural wonder covers an impressive 1200 hectares. Đầm Nại serves as a haven for a diverse array of aquatic life, teeming with over 320 species. These include snails, giant tiger prawns, crabs, and a variety of fish. The lagoon's rich ecosystem is further complemented by a diverse array of plant life that flourishes within its boundaries. However, this natural treasure has been significantly impacted by human activity. Today, nearly 800 hectares of the lagoon are dedicated to intensive aquaculture, with over 4000 farmers cultivating shrimp, snails, crabs, and oysters. This heavy reliance on aquaculture has come at a cost to the lagoon's natural state. In the 1980s, the area boasted approximately 300 hectares of lush mangrove forest, which has since been cleared to accommodate the growing aquaculture industry. Recognizing the importance of preserving Đầm Nại's ecological integrity, local authorities and conservation organizations have implemented various initiatives to protect the lagoon. These efforts include: 1) Reforestation projects: Mangrove forests are being replanted to restore the lagoon's natural habitat and enhance biodiversity. 2) Sustainable aquaculture practices: Promoting eco-friendly aquaculture techniques to reduce pollution and minimize environmental impact. 3) Community engagement: Educating local communities about the significance of the lagoon and encouraging their participation in conservation efforts.
